Hey, I'm Myrlene!

Certified Massage Therapist, Kinesitherapist, Orthotherapist and trained Myofunctional Therapist

I spent years dealing with jaw pain, clenching, daily headaches and over 10 TMJ-related symptoms.

I tried multiple approaches… but nothing gave lasting relief.

That’s what led me to this work.

Today, I help people understand how their tongue, jaw, breathing and posture are all connected and how to retrain them so the body can finally stop compensating.

This is for you if:

You clench or grind your teeth (especially at night)

You wake up with jaw pain, headaches or neck tension

You feel like something deeper is causing your symptoms

You’ve tried things but nothing has fully worked

How It Works (3 Easy Steps)

1. Book Your Private Evaluation (60-90min)

We assess your jaw, tongue, breathing and muscle patterns to understand what’s actually driving your symptoms.

You’ll leave with clear answers and a personalized direction.

2. Continue with a personalized plan (if needed)

If it’s a good fit, we build a step-by-step plan to retrain your muscle function and reduce compensations.

(No pressure to continue.)

3. Restore Function, Reduce Pain Over Time

Through simple daily practices, your body learns to function properly again so tension and symptoms don’t keep coming back.

Myofunctional Therapy Program (12 virtual Sessions)

This is not about “relaxing your jaw.”

It’s about understanding why your body is creating tension in the first place.

This personalized program is designed for people dealing with:

TMJ, Jaw and Facial pain

Head & neck pain

Improper tongue posture

Teeth clenching, grinding, Bruxism

Postural imbalances affecting the jaw and face

Tongue tie

Tongue thrust (difficulty swallowing/eating)

Poor sleep, snoring, UArs, sleep apnea

Mouth breathing

Structured guidance to restore proper muscle function and relieve chronic tension at its root.

Program Duration

Around 6-12 months depending on pace, practice, consistency, progress and individual needs. *The program may extend slightly if a tongue-tie release or other collaboration is needed.

What actually changes when you address the root cause

  • Improved tongue and jaw coordination

  • Reduced clenching and chronic tension

  • Better nasal breathing and body posture

  • A clear understanding of your dysfunctions and how to manage them

  • Greater autonomy over your health, body, and comfort

Why This Program Works:

Most approaches focus on managing symptoms.

This approach focuses on understanding why they’re happening.

  • It’s not a quick fix — it’s retraining your muscles to work the way they are meant to.

  • Rather than just “relaxing the jaw,” we address the true muscle, breathing, posture, and behavioral patterns that keep you stuck in pain.

  • This is how you go from daily dysfunction to confident control.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What results can I expect?

A: Clients typically notice improved jaw comfort, better posture, reduced muscle tension, and easier breathing with consistent participation over several months.

Q: Is this guaranteed to fix my TMJD?

A: Everybody responds differently. My focus is on restoring muscle function and empowering you with tools, support and guiding you in the right direction to reduce your symptoms.

Q: What are the main goals of Myofunctional Therapy?

A: Myofunctional Therapy focuses on restoring four key functions:

  1. Correct tongue posture (resting against the palate)

  2. Lips sealed at rest

  3. Nasal breathing

  4. Proper swallowing pattern

And optimally all day and night!

Q: Is this the same as physical therapy for the jaw?

A: While it has similarities, Myofunctional Therapy is more focused on oral and facial muscle coordination, tongue position, breathing, and habits that affect can affect TMD, facial tension and sleep disorder breathing.

Q: Is this therapy just for people with TMJ pain?

A: No — it’s also helpful for people dealing with teeth clenching, mouth breathing, low tongue posture, tethered oral tissues, tongue thrust, chronic tension, headaches, sleep issues, and even postural problems related to the jaw.

Q: Do I need a diagnosis to start?

A: No. Many clients come in without a formal diagnosis but with symptoms. If I think you need a medical referral, I’ll let you know and help you find other providers in your area.

Q: Will I have to do exercises every day?

A: Yes — but it’s simple. About 5 minutes, twice a day for the myofunctional exercises. Consistency is what brings results. I may suggest additional practices throughout the program to complement your progress.

Q: What if I need a tongue-tie release?

A: If we determine a release is needed, I’ll help guide you through the process and connect you with appropriate providers in your area.

Q: Is this covered by insurance?

A: At this time, sessions are private pay only. Some clients submit receipts to their insurers depending on their plan.
